1. Payment & Deposit
A deposit of 30% of the total hire cost is required to secure a booking, together with a returned signed copy of our terms and conditions. The final balance must be paid one month before the date of hire.
A refundable breakages deposit is also required, in the sum of £100.00 or 50% of the total hire costs, whichever is greater.
2. Hire Period
The hire duration is 4 days. Crockery and bunting may be hired for additional days at a further cost.
3. Condition of Goods
Vintage Tea Kent will ensure that the bone china items hired are in good vintage condition. However, due to the nature and age of our crockery, patterns and gilt can be expected to show signs of wear. Items should be treated with extra care at all times, especially when stacked.
Please pack the hired items carefully and in the same manner received, in the same packaging and containers.
All items should be checked and signed for by the hirer upon receipt. No discrepancies or faults will be accepted unless notified within 24 hours of delivery (or collection from us).
We will endeavour to select items to suit your theme and requirements. As all of our bone china items are vintage, we cannot guarantee specific sizes or colours.
All items must be returned clean and repackaged safely in the original packaging. Due to fragile nature of our vintage crockery, all items must be hand washed. If you would prefer to return the items for cleaning, we ask that bowls, milk jugs and teapots are thoroughly emptied and all items rinsed. Cleaning is charged at 30% of the total hire cost.
All of the items in our bone china collection are vintage and replacement costs are expensive. Any damaged crockery items and/or breakages will be charged at 10 times the hire cost for each individual item. Any damaged bunting will be charged at 4 times the hire cost for each individual length.
7. Delivery & Collection
We offer a delivery & collection service throughout the South East at 45 pence per mile. Alternatively, you may wish to collect and return the items yourself.
For bunting only hires, it may be delivered via special delivery (and returned the same way). Please contact us for a quote. A greater refundable breakages/damages deposit is required when bunting is delivered and returned in this way.
The hirer is responsible for the safe keeping and protection of all items and packaging on hire as from the time of delivery (or collection from us) , until the items are collected by us (or returned to us) .
The hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to items supplied until received and checked.
Vintage Tea Kent accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage or injury caused by the hired items, however caused. All hired items remain the responsibility of the hirer during the hire period. Items are despatched clean, undamaged and in good working order.
